The Bramberg Heritage Museum is located in a lovingly restored 14th-century Pinzgau farmhouse. Awaiting you here is the biggest collection of minerals in Salzburg with over 520 individual exhibits representing a variety of minerals, including quartz and fascinating emerald deposits from the Hohe Tauern region. Further exhibits of handicrafts, bee-keeping, local traditions and religious art, along with an open-air area, make this museum one of the region’s true treasures.
Traditional Life – up close and personal!
How did people live in the Oberpinzgau in centuries past? Rooms in the farmhouse featuring original furnishings and historic tools, along with the adjoining open-air museum, with its wood-cutters’ houses, a rake-maker’s hut, grain silos and a glacial pot, all provide insights into how different strata of society once lived their lives. An exhibition in the former Weyerhofmühle Mill shares information on the over 400-year-old history of mining.
