Ski Touring
Experience nature at its finest here in the Oberpinzgau, a touring paradise.
Ski-touring presents us with the opportunity for a very special kind of nature adventure. Using the power of your own muscles, you will make your way through untouched countryside and ascend to mountain peaks. The wonderful stillness and beautiful views are as much a part of this sport’s fascination, as are those glorious descents down pristine slopes. 


The Oberpinzgau region, in particular, with its highly favorable geographic location, offers a broad variety of touring opportunities. At the height of winter, the gentle hills of the Kitzbühel Alps and Pinzgau “Grass Mountains” invite you to enjoy skiing down slopes covered in amazing powder. In springtime, ambitious tourers will be able to tackle the numerous 3,000-meter peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Swooshing across the packed “firn” snows represents an unforgettable experience for every ski-touring fan.
Ski Touring
Mittersill, the main town of the Oberpinzgau, is an ideal base for many ski tours. Its central location on the main Tauern range, also allows tourers to visit Eastern Tyrol via the Felbertauern Road. There, on the southern flanks of the Grossvenediger peaks, countless other touring opportunities await.

Our state-certified mountain and ski guides have put together an extensive program for this winter yet again. It includes everything, from a sampler tour for newcomers to the sport, to a foray to the Tauern Haute Route. More information on these programs is available from the Mittersill Tourist Office.
