Cross-country looks easy, which leads many beginners to see how they do on their own, or to follow the well-intended tips of a friend. But in cross-country skiing, as with any sport, it is important to learn the correct technique from the very outset, ensuring you will be able to conserve energy and cruise effortlessly along the trails. Our cross-country instructors will show you the sport´s basic techniques, so that you´ll quickly be able to share the true joy of this form of skiing!
On the trail through the Salzach Valley
A very special treat awaits experienced fans of this Nordic sport: The well-groomed 160km-long "Pinzga Loipe". This trail is groomed both for classic technique and for skaters, and leads from Krimml, through the Sazach Valley and on to Zell am See. If you want to see glorious countryside, slice through the snow and explore villages along the trail´s edge - there is no better setting than this.
It is even possible to begin skiing right outside your front door, on the Blizzard Trail in Mittersill. But if the snow is a little scarce, the mountain trails - such as the "High Moors Trail" - always have snow conditions you can count on. The cross-country trails are also floodlit after dark.
