The term „arts“ in its narrow sense describes elements of human culture that are not primarily made for practical purposes but display their worth for man on the level of aesthetics.
That can happen in a vast variety of ways. In the Upper-Pinzgau great importance is attached to arts and culture, whereas folk culture appears as a special branch.
In our area lots of things happen in the fields of preserving traditional customes and customs, of brass band music, folk songs, folk music and folk dance, of riflemen corps and of museums of local history – as to be seen in the event calendar of Mittersill and its surroundings. The region around Mittersill, Hollersbach, and Stuhlfelden provides international top-class arts and culture, too – just to mention the
Mittersill Composers’ Forum or the
International Painters’ Week in Hollersbach.
